Hi experts,
My question is; what are the steps to perform if the project business area, plant and profit center is changed? The project is released and there are financial activities on project.
Thanks in advance.
Hi,
In our company each project is running by a HR organization unit.
When the project's organization unit changes, we have to change business area, plant and profit center of the project. Also, we need to carry all posted costs/revenue to new profit center. Is there a basic solution for that?
And, it is not possible to change business area now. I suppose, our substitution does not allow to change.
Thanks for your replies.

Hi,
I would rather keep a history, like everywhere in HR all info types have validity dates and support multiple records.
Once you have an org change open a new set of WBS with a new attributes and close down the old set, just assuming you do not have long-lead procurement for that type of projects.

Paulo
Hi,
Changing the business area and profit center is normally possible (as soon as you understand an impact) and probably need to reclassify already posted costs/revenue between business areas and/or profit centers (again that depends and differ in "old" PCA and NewGL).
But changing plant after postings (or even after release) is normally not possible.

Paulo

Hi,
could you pls elaborate the question with some examples.
How ever the best practice is to create a new project with new assignments and transfer the cost from old project to new one. This might help you
