Dear Support,

We have a requirement to get the variance report weekly. Is there any possibility to run Preliminary settlement, WIP, variance calculation, and variance settlement weekly. Kindly sort out any issues is there.

Thanks and regards

Sajitha.

Hi

Apart from what Kamal ji mentioned, some points I want to add.

You are supposed to do order revaluation (for activity actual prices) at month end which is only possible after all actual FI postings for the month are over. Hence you will not be able to calculate variances (correctly) during the month i.e. weekly in your case.

Hi

In SOP it is not recommended to run period end activities other than month end because once you do weekly basis and settled the orders it will post FI docs as well as relevant other areas. For next week you have to reverse all documents to bring back your orders in original status for regular postings and this may create a mes to control ...so not recommended

Dear Kamal,

Thank you for your response. What is the need of reversing the settlement and do again. whether the system will do the settlement for the order with DLV or TECHO  completed right.Kindly explain little more.

Thanks and regards

Hi Sajitha

One production/process order will not complete in a week so may continue for whole period/month..so always you may require goods movement..so you can't make it DLV/TECO at week end. If your order is on weekly basis then you can complete..and in next week you have to create order for another week...and so on..but have to face huge data management in your system.

If you have REM then only at month end you can calculate ...so no question of weekly period end closing.

many ifs and buts are involved..so in SOP this is not recommended at all.
