Dangerous Goods IDOCS (E1EDD10 Segment)

I have not worked with dangerous goods previously, but have come up with the following situation for my client.

The client was initially not getting TDG data for Canada to Canada shipments.  So I configured the validity area to include Canada.  When tested this is now showing the TDG in segment E1EDD10 as expected.

Next, we tested Canada to US shipment.  The IDOC now has DG data for TDG (Canada) and DOT (US).  It contains two E1EDD10 segments.  According to the client it should only contain the DOT data as the shipment is going to the US.  The TDG is not required.

Question - Is there a way to limit the DG IDOC in this scenario (Canada to US) so it will only display the DOT dangerous goods and the TDG dangerous goods are not displayed.

Thanks,

Jeff.

Dear Jeff

you mix a lot of topics and your explanation is not clear and specific enough.

E.g. your setentence:

The client was initially not getting TDG data for Canada to Canada shipments.  So I configured the validity area to include Canada.

Does not make sense to me.

You need to differentiate the handling of master data and the process in SAP SD. You can not mix this.

First. you need some DG masterdata present for regulation TDG on material level. Second you need to set up dangerous goods checks etc. that there is the need to check for "TDG" so that you can e.g. block document generation etc.. (please check SAP Online help; and SAP EHS customizing for DG)

With you sentence:

When tested this is now showing the TDG in segment E1EDD10 as expected.

I am as well "lost". as you once again mix topics together which should not be mixed.

First: DG master data must be present; second suitable ALE scenario must be set up (if needed).  Only if on mateerial level you have data maintained for DG TDG you will get the IDOC with TDG information.

If you have two  SAP systems on in which master data is generated and one there logistic process is tunning than you need clealry DG IDOCs.

And the other explanations of you are the "same". You mix different processes in the same sentence.

Therefore:please seperate clealry these three steps:

a.) generation of DG master data

b.) Set up of ALE scenario with DG data (only if needed)

c.) use of DG data in SAP SD process
