V12 - Download links and how to get keys?

Former Member

Hi,

Where are the download links for V12? There doesn't appear to be anything on the devzone yet.

Also, how do I get my dev licence keys and customer licence keys for V12?

I am based in the UK?

Do I do it through the SAP portal?

Regards

Mike

Is there any updates for Developers getting access to downloads?  (server, Arc, Components).

Nothing has been posted in the devzone yet.  I have my dev keys already from my rep, just no way to download anything!

Thanks,

Chris

Download the testversion of ADS v12.
If you have any special key for developers, try to stamp it over the adsstamp.exe

Thanks.  I got the zips downloaded.  I'll try and see if i can update keys later with adsstamp.

Appreciate the help.

Mike - I mentioned in the post that the links for the eval versions are coming soon.  The regular downloads are on SAP Service MarketPlace - they will not be on the Devzone.

Regarding your other question re: valcodes, the utilities have been updated for v12 - Frank is looking into the availability of that.

Found them and downloaded.

For now, do I use the temporary licence key for testing?

If you have access to your RVC, you can generate an eval key to use the version 12 for now.
All other should contact the SAP ADS Sales team for an eval key, until an eval version is available to download. Version for developers are still in process and should be available very soon.
To download the current ADS version 12, please use the following steps below:</

  1. Go to http://service.sap.com
  2. Click the “Download Software” button
  3. Choose “Installations & Upgrades”
  4. Choose “A-Z Alphabetical List of my Products”
  5. Select letter “A”
  6. From the list, scroll down and select “SAP ADS”
  7. Select the link “SAP ADS 12.0”
  8. Select link “Installation”
  9. Select your OS and download the Software

1) What is the temporary licence key file for in the list of downloads?

2) What does RVC mean?

3) What is the developer version and how is it different to the current download available?

Mike - you can use the temporary key from the download list.  It's provided so that you can immediately use the product until permanent keys are issued.

RVC = Remote ValCode Utility used to generate valcodes for ADS

Developer Version is essentially the same software - just limited to 2-users and only allowed for testing use (not production).

I purchased v12 and tried to download using the above instructions.

The files are stuck in the Exports folder and will not download.

The message says:

"Objects are locked by SAP Export Department for processing. To cancel request contact us via customer ticket."

Who do I contact to fix this? I can't find anything about issuing a customer ticket.

Michael - I have an inquiry into the SMP team.  In the meantime, are you using the SAP Download Manager?  There is information on the main SMP page about it - that might help if you're downloading multiple files.

Thanks for your help Mike. I installed the download manager, but still can't download v12. I get this error:

Download basket request for update has been processed. Unable to add 1 new object(s). The objects are already part of Export and to be processed.

I am unable to delete the items in the Export folder.

Mike - I'm trying to get to the bottom of this.  To investigate further, the SMP folks has asked me for your customer number (or S-ID), and order number if you have it.  Please don't post that information here - just email it to me directly at mike.paola@sap.com  Thanks.
