System Copy NetWeaver 7.4 Java with SP7-Source-System

Hi all

I want to system-copy a NetWeaver 7.4 AS Java Usage Type BI based on Oracle 11.2.0.4 and Windows x64.

The Source System is SP7 with Kernel 7.41, so it's not a SR2 and neuther an pure SR1 release.

Now my question / problem:

I need to download SWPM, NetWeaver 7.4 SR2 JAVA DVD and Kernel 7.42 DVD because SR1 DVDs are not availale anymore.

I want to do database specific system copy (backup/restore method).

If I start SWPM on the target host I have to use NetWeaver 7.4 SR2 because SR1 Sources are not available.

What version will I have in the file system in my target system afterwards? I fear it's SR2 based (>=SP8)?

How can I achieve a 1:1 system copy?

In SWPM for NetWeaver 7.0x I think it is possible to "export" the file system data from the source system to create a "JAVA Component DVD" for import in the target system.

BR

Michael

Hello Michael,

Since you are going to copy system using dadtabase specific system copy none of the components will change. Don't worry about them.

And you need only SWPM and kernel dvd. Java dvd, export dvd etc is not needed for system copy.

Go through system copy guide carefully.

Java SR2 DVD is needed, at least SWPM asks for it during execution.

However, SysCopy ran fine.

Thanks for your help
