How to set the handling uint number with non-numeric

Hi all,

We met an issue about the sap handling unit, because of we have two types of handling unit. One type is external system sent to us, another type is we packing material generated. So we need to divide these handling unit. Below is Tcode: VHAR setting.

Hi Tian,

You can make the setting for HU number range as - No. range interval HU_VEKP.

Thereaftr specify the internal and external no. range intervals.

In the transaction SNRO, specify the no. range object HU_VEKP and maintain two different ranges for the interval 01(Internal) and 02(External).

01 - When you create HU by specifying the packaging material, system will pick up the number from interval 01

02 - Give this interval to external supplier, they can send any number inbetween this range.

Thanks, but i check it HU_VEKP in the SNRO ,found it is number type. You can check the below picture.

HU number is having specific meaning and with my experience till now I have never seen any HU number which is non-numeric. If you have two different HU type (External and internal ) then you can use different number range to identify them

Below is our plant HU and they all contain the non-numeric .

Tcode: LX02

Tcode: HUMO

For the handling unit which you shared in earlier screen identification type is B means no HU management can you please try to generate the same other then A or B and share the result

We also have only number type handling unit.

About how to generate the non-numerical handling unit please check the below step.

Tcode: HU02,  input a packing material firstly.

Click the "Enter" button , it will get a handling unit with type "A".

Then change the handling unit number 1264660 to C7CUL1264660. It will change to be type "B" automatically.
