Dear Karthik Annam,

If the parent material has two BOM's then with respect selection method from MRP4 view system will pick the BOM based on validity

similarly

if you have two BOM's then please maintain the PV in the MRP4 view then while creating the production order system will populate the selection option for selecting the Production version which is having BOM and Routing details for carryout that production order

Hi karthik,

There should be a business need when you create alternate BOM for example with base qty component qty changes. With time validity component changes.

When we create alternative BOM, we have to link them with the production version as per lot size or the validity.

Please check the below detail:

In Material master MRP4 view, Which selection method are you selected?

Please check the below screen shot and set selection method according to your requirement

According to above definition of each point, check your lot size, prod version and test once again.

Actually i created alternative BOM for One excited material in CS01. In CS03 am able to see that alternative BOM2 .

But while creating Production order in CO01 i want select BOM2 but am unable to select BOM2 how to select BOM2 where can i select BOM2 in CO01

  1. Is both BOM have same Usage ?

  2. What value you have maintained in MRP4 field 'selection method'

3. Are you using Production version.

Try to maintain selection method  "With Selection by explosion date," and try.
