SMP 3.0 Server Issue "OutOfMemory"

Hi all,

We are currently experiencing SMP server issue for which we need to restart the SMP server. We have checked the applications logs and it seems the error is related to heap memory (JAVA HEAP SPACE)

This server have 24GB RAM and only one application (SAPIM) installed on it. The concurrent active users are 10 tops. We have checked and followed the considerations of this blog: and about two weeks after changing the JVM properties on prop.ini file, the error happened again.

The version of my SMP is: SMP 3.0 SP03 with Oracle 11.2

What can I do to avoid this issue that leads me to restart services and and stop daily operations when it happens?

I believe that there is a known issue with Agentry apps and SMP on SP03.  You need to upgrade server to SP09 PL01.

Could you give me please the OSS Note # that supports the solution you suggested? Or anyone can give me the OSS Note # or documentation about this?

Just review the cover letter of the patches as they have all the public fixes.

Please increase the heap size of your SMP server and see after restarting. It might help you.

yes, we had similar issue and increasing the heap size as shown above resolved the issue for now. Double the value for minimum and maximum heap size and re-start the services.
