Equipment transfer from One company to another company

Dear Experts,

I am trying to transfer the equipment from one company' X Plant X001 to another company Y Plant Y001.

I do Dismantle the equipment from the Functional Location and bring it in Stock with IE4N in Plant X and and Do transfer Posting from Plant to plant.After Transfer Posting I check the equipment I Observed the equipment's company Code and Plant get changed, But the cost center  assigned remain same.

I want to know whether it is correct Process from FI/CO Pojnt of view.

Kindly help me on this to understand the equipment transfer from one company to another company, I believe it is a common process.

I have both cases like Equipment and Serialized equipment. I checked on Google and read past thread but there is no response on this I believe people get benefit from expert's response.

    The Cost Center needs to be updated for the new Plant/Co. Code.

    Generally the Cost Center will be updated when you Install the Equipment into its new Functional Location in Y001.

    There are multiple values available for many/most fields within an Equipment record.  View them from IE03 via Edit > Data Origin List.  You can have the field value use the Functional Location's value, or Superior Equipment value or Individually maintain the value for this Equipment.

    Display and Change Data Origin for Equipment

    SAP retains the records from previous maintenance until changed, which is why you are not seeing the Cost Center changed.

    With just the transfer to the new Plant/Co.Code, SAP has no reference for which Cost Center you want in the new Plant/Co.Code.
