ATP category groups & category

Hi Experts,

I have created some custom category groups  & custom atp categories.

For example :   ZEX – custom cate group

ZE  - Custom ATP categories

ZE is mapped to BF (Purchase order )     

In Planning area keyfigure definition. What exactly happens if I define the keyfigure in 3 different ways

              Keyfigure            CatGroup           Cat                    How keyfigure is read from Livecache ?

Case 1 -        KF1               ZEX                  ZE

Case 2 -        KF1               ZEX                     

Case 3          KF1                                        ZE

What is the impact of Keyfigure definitions in keyfigure definition ?

Hi John,

Category groups basically helps to specify the order categories that would be considered while reading data from Live cache.  Category within Category Group is used to define the order type that would be created for example by SNP for the key figure in liveCache.

For an order series Key figure (Semantics 000) it is must to define either category or category group. So, as per your example you can define either of Category group or Category for a keyfigure - Also if both is maintained then also its ok.

I would like to get clarified in detail.

Consider Category group ZEX has 3 atp categories ZA,ZB,ZE.

                  Keyfigure       CatGroup           Cat                    How keyfigure is read/stored from Livecache ?

Case 2 -        KF1               ZEX

KF1 is editable in Planning book, If i put value '10'  to KF1.

Will this value get distributed equally to all atp categories ? Since cate group has 3 atp categories.

How value is stored in each of above cases  ?

How Keyfigure function impact this ?
