i recently start working with sap strategy management.
i need your helps.
when i create a measure in measures (in strategy management design ) i want to use an excel file as my data source.how can i do it ?
my object is to design a scorecard and its details like (perspectives and objectives and measures...) and see the result, is there any source help that you can suggest me ?
thanks for your helps.
Hi
You can have 2 ways loading data from Excel.
1. Entry And Approval (E & A)
2. In PAS using Link ID.
You can also use SMDataLoader.xls for loading perspectives, objective & KPI names also.
You can use Cubebuilder for designing PAS Model.
1. Create Model Using Cubebuilder.
2. Create or Load using SMDataLoader all Score Card Items reqd.
3. Assign KPIs / Measures to PAS measures while configuration.
4. Load Data either from E & A or Directly into PAS.
5. View Score Card

can you explain about it for me plz .
thanks your help .
Hi Mansoureh,
PAS sits at the bottom of SSM arquitecture within the data layer. A PAS database is the data source for the SSM presentation layer. Once data resides in the PAS database, the PIP listener is the communication
piece between PAS and the NW database used to store the strategy
management data, such as objective, KPI, context information, which is presented on SSM UI.
As Srig mentioned the data sources can be multiple (Entry and Approval, BW, ODBC connection to external data sources etc.) So, yes, you can also use as a datasource an excel file. To do so you will have to: 1- create a LinkID (indicating DB source XLS and the location (path) of the XLS file in the server), 2-Create a PAS procedure including syntaxis dql that tells the system where to connect to (in this case connect to excel), which variables will be present in this excel and their periodicity, and which is the down-across layout of data on your file, so PAS can read it.
Once done the above you execute this proc and the data is available then in PAS.

Jazmin
