Re-order point calculation in SAP-APO-SPP

Dear SAP experts,

We are currently assesing the functionality of SPP (Service Parts Planning). One that that we are not sure is the module capability to calculate the re-order point. In ECC, we can select the MRP type 'VM' which enable the calcuation of the re-order point, and then during forecasting the re-order point is automatically calculated and updated in the material master.

We were wondering whether the same functionality also exist in SPP? Where we can ask the system to calculate the re-order point OR is it that we need to always input this re-order point manually?

John,

SPP can do Reorder Point Based planning in DRP.

Product Location Master --> DRP Tab --> DRP Planning Mode select the "ROP".

SPP DRP will calculate the Max stock and Reorder point for you or you can enter the values manually as well

You can control in configuration how long the planning mode should remain ROP and at which point ROP should get changed to Forecast based. For this you need to run special PSM service as well.

Note - ROP based planning will not consider forecast during its planning.
