Record Count

Hi,

I am new to crystal report and am trying to figure out how to count the number of unique records in a list. The report draws date from two dables. Tabel1 has got a list of uniqe Project numbers, Table2 holds data of number of times a project has been postponed. Everytime a project is posponed a new record is appended to the botom of the table. Table two is linked to table1 by the unique record identifier.

Count function does not work and crystal complains that there is no group that matches the field.

table2 holds data like this

ID Job

1     1

2     1

3     3

4     2

5     5

6     1

7     2

The result should then be listed like this:

Job 1     3

Job 2     2

Job 3     1

Job 5     1

Thanks.

    Hi Erik,

Insert a Group on the Job Field.

Next, go to Insert Summary > Choose a field to for the summary > Choose Count as the Summary Function > Under summary Location choose 'Group Footer'.

You can also do this using a Crosstab.

Below is the image on how the report looks like. The posponemts number is however correct but now jobs are listed a multiple of times.

    Hi,

    Thanks,

it sort of works, but I would like to have the count in the same line as the ID (Detail field and not Footer), currently the count is in the next line. In addtion the groups are expanded (meaning that an individual recoord is listed X times depending on the number of how many jobs with the same ID.
