CK11N with transfer control system checks existing std cost also for components in BOM valid in the future

I have a question about an issue regarding cost calculation using a costing variant with transfer control.

When we execute CK11N for a material code all components in BOM of this material code are picked, but in BOM there are components valid from a future date respect of costing date in cost calculation, so system should not take in consideration them.

Is it right?

I noticed that for costing variant with transfer control these components are taken in consideration even if their BOM is valid for the future, they are in BOM of material father but from validity date in the future.

Example if I run CK11N for material code for 2015, I expect that compononts in BOM valid from 2016 don't taken in consideration, but using costing variant with transfer control they do!

While if I run CK11N for the same material code using another costing variant (without transfer control) these components with BOM valid from 2016 are not!

Do you have any suggestion about this?

Many thanks

    Hello Giusy,

Please check the Transfer Control setting in your Costing Variant (OKKN).

    Check below screen:

If the "Future Standar Cost Estimates" is selected, what you experienced is possible.

    Best Regards,

this has to do with costing date and quantity structure date.

CK11N processes the structure explosion as follows:

    1. read and explode BoM of the material to be costed - use the given 'qtty structure date' !
    2. for the BoM components found in step 1. check if a cost estimate can be found by transfer control - use the given 'costing from date':
      • if cost estimate exists - do not create a new cost estimate for this component
      • if no cost estimate exists: goto step 1. and process BoM reading/explosion (and step 2) for this material

Please check top-down in the costing structure which cost estimates have been transferred and which have been created. This should clarify the reason why the 'future components' are included.
