Create hierarchy node

Hi experts,

I have a hierarchy in a master data in BW like this:

-node1

-node2

....

-node20

This hierarchy is loaded from ECC, so the number of nodes may change.

Is that possible to group all those nodes in one global node at bex level? and users can drill down using that node.

Thanks.

Amine

Hi Phani,

Here is an example:

In my example, you can see two nodes : Root + Not Assigned Employe

What i would like to do is to create a superior level node which is going to regroup those 2 hierarchies.

Thanks.

Hi Amine

Root node is a node which will not be under any node and has no parent node (predecessor) assigned to it. You could compare this with the general term root which is the starting for everything.

The Not Assigned node is generally referred "not postable" node. Having said that, these characteristic values are available in master data, but are not arranged properly in the hierarchy.

There is no way you could group these into one node (as far as I am aware of).

Now what are you expecting with this kind of grouping. What is real problem which made you ask this question? May be we could come up with a different approach.

Regards

Karthik

Hi Amine,

A hierarchy normally has a root node. In the BEx Query you can define the node level to start. What is exactly your problem?

Best regards,
