SAP EM Extractor functions

Dear Experts,

I am new to SAP EM and trying to configure EM-ECC system for Order-to-Cash scenario.

Can anyone please let me know the exact meaning and use of the following functions:

  1. Business Object Extractor
  2. AOT Relevance
  3. Control Data Extractor
  4. Info Data Extractor
  5. Query ID Extractor
  6. Expected Event Extractor

Also if you can provide any sample test scenario config which i can use for learning purpose, that would be a great help.

Thanks a lot.

Best Regards,

Jaggi

    Hello Jaggi,

if you have access to service.sap.com/scm you can find there a generic config guide.

Transaction SPRO in your application system should also have some info.

    Business Object Extractor

You can use the business object key to link the event handlers that belong to an object in the SAP

application system. This is needed if you want to report actual information back to the SAP

application system or to provide a SAP EM tab page in the relevant application object transaction.

    AOT Relevance

When an application object is created, updated, or deleted a condition or a function determines

whether the object is relevant to the respective visibility process. The function module is

    associated with the AOT.

    Control Data Extractor

Control parameters are usually selected from the main and master tables. Control parameters are

required to define conditions in SAP EM, or to use the Alert Framework (for example, e-mail

    address).

    Info Data Extractor

Info parameters are used, for example, for displaying status queries, transferring notifications, or

selecting event handlers in the Web interface. They provide additional useful data.

    Query ID Extractor

Obsolete please don't use it in new scenarios

Expected Event ExtractoThe expected event extractors select the milestone information from the application object tables.

    Best regards,

    Steffen

      Hi Jaggi,

Yes, It is possible to integrate SAP EWM to SAP EM, however standard integration not available at this moment.

You can develop custom BADI and RFC to integrate SAP EM EH and Event Message to post events into SAP EM.

Take a look of Delivery and Shipment extractors that can you an idea to implement on your own in SAP EWM.

Some companies not use standard extractors instead they gone below path due to initial designs:

      1. Create custom table to load event into table in SAP ECC or SAP EWM.

      2. Create custom program and send event to EH_POST and EVM directly in SAP EM.

      3. Create custom event handlers and other custom functions to monitor in SAP EM.

The best approach would be using SAP EM standard extractors and customize those extractors and then post events into SAP EM.
