send with application own transaction for VT02N Transaction

Can anybody explain how Option-3(send with application own transaction) works.

I have shipment( VT02N Transaction) and have given custom output type with dispatch time as "3-send with application own transaction".

When it will be processed?

Do any background job should be scheduled to process this?

option 3 triggered when goods issue is posted.

Yes.  The text of Option-3 itself is (send with application own transaction) self-explanatory.  System would consider Z-program developed by ABAPers which should be scheduled for background job.  You can test this with the standard program where it won't work
