Hello gurus,
I'm actually working in a company that wants to start a SAP Screen Personas project but we are stuck because we haven't found a way to incorporate Personas in our current landscape. Right now we have a 3 system landscape (DEV QAS and PRD), we also have a sandbox system which is a copy of the productive system.
So far we have tried Personas in the sandbox system and it works fine. But when we installed the add-on on DEV we found that we could not access all Screens we need because our DEV system has no data. Therefore we need a client in DEV with a reasonable amount of data to develop Personas flavors. At this point we have considered the following alternatives:
Has anyone faced this kind of situation? We would appreciate any kind of insight on this matter because at this point our only option seems to be creating new data, but right now we would like to avoid that.
Best regards,

Hi Juan,
in my opinion you should consider developing the data dependent flavors in your existing sandbox, export them and import them in your DEV to keep them transported correctly through your landscape. A possible problem could be that you cannot use versioning for your flavors but have different flavors and might have to delete the old ones. Still it's not that big of a deal.
Normally i would recommend another client in DEV with business data to enable developing for the long run. Creating data from the scratch can get really time consuming depending on the kind of data you need though and might kill your deadlines. But keep in mind that you don't need a lot of test data to create the flavors. Normally 2-3 sets of data per process are enough to get the flavor working as designed if it was designed correctly.
I would not recommend to develop flavors in QAS, though it would be the easiest option you listed.
If it's possible and you don't need data too specific, create a new client on DEV and create test data from scratch. Else you should consider developing in sandbox and import to DEV.
Kind regards,
Christoph
