Former Member

Dear Experts,

We are moving to HANA and now we are using PI 7.1 Dual stack And client wants to go with SAP 7.4 dual stack so can we go ahead with 7.4 dual stack for HANA?

And also we are having ABAP mappings for bank transactions so can we go ahead with JAVA mapping if we go with single stack  for high level security transactions.

Cheers...

Hello Charan,

You can connect to Hana DB using JDBC . So,yes you can go ahead with 7.4 dual stack.

And dual stack supports ABAP Mappings,If there are any specific reason you would like to convert to Java mappings you can go ahead.

Hello Charan,

The below document 'Roadmap: SAP NetWeaver Discontinues Dual-Stack' will give you all the required information.

http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/60bf3650-e219-3010-ef93-d11928aa8...

In a nuttshell:

"SAP NetWeaver is among other things optimized for SAP HANA as the foundation for the SAP Business Suite on SAP HANA project. This means that dual-stack deployments and implementations are not supported any longer. The only exception to this rule is SAP NetWeaver Process Integration on a traditional database system, which still requires a dual-stack implementation."

If I recall well then '2020' is the official end of support for dual stack PI ... but that doesn't mean the system will suddently stop working ofc

Cheerio,
