Can we use/View Personas Screen in SAP GUI for Windows ?

Hello Personas Experts,

We have installed Personas 2.0 Service Pack 03 .

• We are accessing system using link http://xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx.local:8000/sap/bc/bsp/persos/mainapp/index.html
• Able to copy standard screen, name it & Hide the screen element . Able to set it as default.
• Able to use modified screen to bring up reports/data in Personas UI.

Issues

1. Modified screen are not visible when we use same client using SAP GUI for WINDOW or SAP NWBC. There are no links to Flavor Gallery
2. Personas UI is very slow, i guess it is impossible to rollout to Entire organization , if SAP recomends this is the way to use SAP Personas

Hi Jatin,

Personas 2.0 flavors cannot be viewed in SAP GUI for windows. It is available only in browsers.

Personas 3.0 flavors can be viewed in SAP GUI for windows.

If you are on kernel release 749 or 745, you can improve webgui performance (with or without Personas) by upgrading to release 753 and latest or most recent stack kernel patch. Webgui performs better in 753 than in older kernels.

We are using SAP Personas 3.0 and are noticing significant performance differences between SAP GUI for Windows and the web interface. In that rendering flavors in SAP GUI for Windows is significantly slower. Is this to be expected and is there anything that can be done to improve the runtime of Personas on SAP GUI for Windows ? This is the first time I hear about Personas flavors in the Windows GUI being slower than in a web browser. Typically, click-to-click performance in SAP GUI for Windows beats the browser. This is mostly so because the DIAG protocol used by Windows GUI is quicker and better optimized than the webgui's HTTP communication.
Is performance also bad when you disable Personas in SAP GUI, or only if a Personas flavor is active? If the former, then you need to look into tuning your SAP GUI connection first.
If the latter, then make sure you are testing your flavors with the latest SAP GUI release and patch level (currently 760 PL 3), and see if this helps.
