I am looking for some good EMIGALL training. I have some background but need to deep dive.
For example I can generate the load reports and import load data from a text file to generate business partners. How do I put the load file onto the server or desktop for the ISMW /EMIGALL transaction to fetch for loading? Do I need special authorization?
Basically I need a start-to-finish scenario to test a few EMIGALL data objects. The standard SAP documentation stops at a simple example and does not discuss how to pass a large 50M load file to EMIGALL for loading into SAP IS-U.

Hi Lifeng.
If I understood you correctly, you have read the Migration workbench manual and the available documentation.
What you could do in your situation is upload the input text fle to the server (either using EMIGALL - Convert migration file itself, or by transaction CG3Z or any other method you have). Once you do that, you should convert that file to a migration file (again, EMIGALL - Convert migration file).
From that point on, you should probably do distributed import, for which you have step-by-step guide here: .
Hope this helps.

Marko:
Thank you so much. I really appreciate your response which helped me advance futher.
I figured out how to upload file for frontend processing.
However when I tried to to distributed import, I got this error: see image:
Cannot perform frontend function in batch input mode
Would you be kind enough to advise how to avoid this problem? I can generate the load reports in the frontend with no problems and the data migration was successful.

Hi David.
I guess you went to EMIGIMP - Utilities - Convert migration file, and tried to upload a file from the client computer to the SAP system, and chose Execute in background? If yes, then you get the error because you can not do the upload in background.
If you have very large file you want to upload, maybe you can try uploading the file to the server (via FTP or VPN or any other available option) first and then using that file for conversion?
