F110 - FTP Specifications, File Specifications

Former Member

Guys,

I want to use F110 but to use it, the following information of either credit union or bank is required:

file format

file type (file extension)

file layout

file standard

ftp path (ftp folder)

ftp login credentials

I have many accounts worldwide. Different countries. Contacted several banks, different departments, also technical ones. However noone understands me what I want. I am asking for those details. Noone has ever heard for any of those details. Every bank must have them. One employee even told me in his 20 years banking career he has never heard of anything like that. Tried to send them some URLs with explanations what I need. Not even this helps. Noone has those details. Noone understand what those details are for. Noone is able to provide them. I asked over 50 banks in at least 20 countries ( ! )

How else can be those details obtained? Kindly tell me. Being aware contacting them is needed. I am trying to explain, using a lot of technical AND NOT technical terms but still noone understands what I want. Explained them exact procedure how the bank message file is being created, not even this helped. Contacting them all the time. In the past month, I spent like 5 hours per day, contacting them. I also asked in the branch. Not a single employee understood me. Noone knew what I am talking about.

I think every single credit union, every single bank have those details. How can to get them? How else to explain what is need? I said EVERYTHING in every possible approach of description. Still noone understands. I even provided SAMPLE OF THE FILE. Contacting them seem to not make any progress, even technical department employees didn't understand me or didn't know what are those details.

Claudia.

F110 simply clears your invoice and updates payment details in REGUH, REGUP etc which you are already aware of.

Dont use F110 like words in your discussion.

Ask them

1) How will you get payment information from our company?

2) Where you want to receive the information

3) Which format you want to receive the information.

4) Generally there is a different team which takes care of File handling and FTP details.

5) In Europe they have DMEE format , ACH , txt files are also various formats used in countries like US, India. you will be doing testing with bank so ask them what formats they want etc.

Hope this helps.

Hi Claudia,

What is the file format that we are referring to? For example in UK, it is BACS, in US it is ACH. Like in your country, what is the generally accepted file format. Most of the banks usually accepts that general file format.

Look at OBPM1 and SAP has provided standard PMW structures for majority file formats or country. I do not think this is not a rocket science. Bank should be able to give the file format they would accept for payments.

If the technical team is not able to provide the answers to your questions, you should ask your cleint.

How is the current payments are made other than cheque?

You need to be more specific regarding,

Bank Name

Country

File Format

People would be able to advise you what needs to be done.

Hope this helps.

Ravi

Ravi the bank's employee should provide me file format but my problem is that noone knows anything about the details I listed above. Noone knows anything about FTP. They never heard for file standards. They told me that. Also I was contacting very large banks and neither IT department nor technical department doesn't know those information. As far as I know every bank should have, every bank on the world. My problem is that I simply have no way of obtaining this, neither customer or, in case if I am sender of money, vendors. I did houndreds of phone calls (seriously!), tens of messages and nothing. I have never received not even answer like ''I know what you are talking about but I don't have this information available.''

However I try to explain what I need, there is no progress. Current payments are made outside of sap but this has nothing to do with my problem.

Basically I would like to know those details for each and every bank worldwide I want but there is some serious problem in my approach. I don't know how else should I tell them what I need. Files samples were sent, links with manuals from swift were given, sap fico was represented by me, procedure was explained by me, etc. Still everyone is telling me ''we don't have this info'' or ''we don't have such uploading FTP'' and so on.

Hi Claudia,

What you are asking is very common , which bank are you referring we don't know ? may be out of world .

SAP has all kinds of format as per the business requirement please check once again you will get your answer .

Hi Claudia,

Hope the following thread would help you.

Payment Summary Layout | SCN

Apologies, to be honest, I am also confused, even I am unsure about your requirements.

Hopefully, the following questions help you. You need to ask only the bank following questions.

a) Would you accept online payments to our vendors? Yes or No

b) If the answer to question a) is Yes, then what is the file format. ________

c) If you have the file format, please can you provide a sample copy / guide of the file format.

d) What is the way to submit our files to make the payments?

I do not think bank need to know any other details other than these above four questions. It is not even required also.

You only need to ask these four questions at this point. They do not need to know about the file standards or any other details.

Basically I would like to know those details for each and every bank worldwide

What are these details that you would intend to know to each and every bank in the world? Why you need them? How would they be helpful to map in SAP? Nobody would have these details in the world. You need to recheck your requirements how this information is useful to you.

Why the bank should know about FTP?

FTP is file transfer protocol to transfer the files from one host to the other.

If you want answer for this, you must contact your system administrator, but not bank.

Now steps:

a) Configure / use the PMW Structure

b) Do the standard configuration

c) Run F110 and generate the file the Secured FTP location

d) Give access to the authorised personnel to that directory

e) Ask them to submit the files to the bank for payments

Hope this helps.

Kind Regards,

Ravi

Ravi Sankar thank you again for your time for me. I was asking those questions too but we got stopped  on the first question already. I was receiving answer related to only online banking application (ebanking) and as soon as I started to mention file structure/layout/format or even asking what standard is needed, they didn't understand anything. When I tried to include in my explanation the word ''FTP'', they said they have never heard for their bank's FTP for such purpose. I promise that I am 100% serious, otherwise I wouldn't post here, that noone out of over 20 banks I have contacted, know anything about ''file format''. This is what I am posting my question here - what else to do. The file standard is I believe also needed for F110 and/or DMEE.

You asked me what are details I want to get. My answer is: I want to get minimum details which are required to have in order to use F110 and/or DMEE. Obviously first must be used DMEE and after that F110. Those details are:

file format

file type (file extension)

file layout

file standard

ftp path (ftp folder)

ftp login credentials (if required - sometimes ftp path isn't behind the login access)

As far as I know, I cannot use F110/DMEE t codes without having those details for wanted bank. So the reason why I need them is to be able to use those two commands. Example: If I don't have FTP details, I cannot send file payment request to the bank. So in order to use DMEE, i must have sample file ready and also those details (see above) so I can check Format Tree and see if format is available or if having to create new format on my own (or convert file sample to ready to be uploaded format without needing to manually create it). Thats why I need all those details, to use said t codes.

You also asked me why would I need FTP. I need FTP's details of the bank to send the file so it can be processed - either for receiving or sending money. Without FTP details, I cannot send the file. Without sending the file, payment request (either receive or send) cannot be processed.

You were further telling me to list me some banks where, to which country, I was contacting their technical departments. Here is few list of the banks where I tried to obtain listed required details:

BNP Paribas (France)

Deutsche Bank (Germany)

Barclays (England)

Ally Bank (USA)

Lloyds (England)

Chase (USA)

AfrAsia Bank Zimbabwe Limited (Zimbabwe)

Bank of Baroda (Mauritius)

DSK Bank (Bulgaria)

Dubai Islamic Bank (UAE)

Reserve Bank of Fiji (Fiji)

Nordlandsbanken (Norway)

ECAB (Antigua and Barbuda)

Bank Gaborone Limited (Botswana)

Noone knows anything about this such files, standards, FTPs. Noone. Whatever I try to explain, noone understands.

File format we are referring to should be provided by bank so it can be just about anything. Depending on what I would get from them. Again, I am not doing payments in sap yet because I need this problem to be solved first so I could use F110/DMEE.

Hi Claudia,

You need to have a folder created in your FTP server. (can be mapped to AL11 transaction code, please check with your basis)

This file path needs to be maintained in OBPM4.

When F110 is executed, the file is placed in this folder. This is end of SAP job.

Now, log on to Bank Portal / software and upload the file from your FTP location, where the file is placed by SAP.

I believe these are not your bankers, there are your vendors bankers. In such case, you do not need to contact all of them. Use MT103 file format which is accepted by your local bank. Provide the file in MT103 and payments will be made to your different banks.

For example if your bank is in UK and you need to make local payments within UK, use GB_BACS

For example if your bank is in USA and you need to make local payments within USA, use ACH

But, if you want to make international payments, use MT103 file format and your bank should be capable of accepting the file in this file format.

Hope this helps.

Kind Regards,

Ravi

Ravi, which my FTP server? I don't have my own FTP server. This should be bank's FTP server - there is automated system in the background of FTP processing those files. The purpose is that bank receives this payment request file. If I added it to my own FTP, which I don't have, then this file would never come to the bank.

There is no ''bank portal'' / ''software''. Not sure what are you referring to.

Those are all my bankers, and many more. I haven't listed every single bank I contacted. Just today I contacted 5 more. In average I consumed half hour per one bank, spoke with employees in different departments. Today was the same story as every other day - noone knows anything about that. I was told an answer that they don't know what ''FTP'' is. Then I somehow managed to get email address from someone in technical department. I sent him sample of file. He told me he has never seen anything like that in 10+ years career on this job position. I promise this is the truth, I have no reason to lie.

Even if I use MT103 file format, I still need remaining details:

file type (file extension)

file layout (you probably meant ''file layout'' is BACS, ACH)

file standard

ftp path (ftp folder)

ftp login credentials (if required - sometimes ftp path isn't behind the login access)

I repeat: my problem is all about obtaining such needed and required details for DMEE / F110. Just obtaining them so someone (bank employee) could send them to me. Noone understands what I want, this is the problem.

I think that you are not following Ravi's advice although he has listed them in each paragraph. I believe that what you are experiencing is not a technical issue. It is a procedural issue and you probably need to escalate it with your own Team or Manager. It is understandable that one is frustrated when one does not get the information required to complete the task. And to achieve what you want, you may have to change the approach.

Ravi's point is very clear and that is  - the Banks are not your clients but your vendors banks. So you need to contact your vendor to get the information you require because the vendors would have an agreement with their banks for online payments/transactions. Secondly, in order to get such information, Banks will have their own policies and no employee is authorized to just answer you or give you information without a proper procedure in place. There has to be some protocol that is followed before information is transferred. Also, the people you ask for this sort of information can only go through the IT department after they have clearance from their legal department. Just calling up people in the Bank and expecting them to know about file formats and file transfers is not a feasible approach.

These questions from Ravi start with the basics and they need to be answered first. But like I said, there is a protocol that is followed and the only contacts to get this information can be from the IT department for the Bank or Vendors.

a) Would you accept online payments to our vendors? Yes or No

b) If the answer to question a) is Yes, then what is the file format. ________

c) If you have the file format, please can you provide a sample copy / guide of the file format.

d) What is the way to submit our files to make the payments?

Hi Claudia,

To clarify further, we have recently implemented MT103 file format for our international payments. We have our vendors in more than 100 countries and the transfers goes to thousands of banks all over the world. We never contacted any of the banker of our Vendors. Our Single Point of contact is the technical team of our bank only. Our bankers are one of the leading bankers in UK. Having said that all major banks would accept MT103 file format. Fortunately, SAP has provided PMW structure readily available, we only need to tweak it little bit suitable to our purpose.

May be our approach is helpful to you.

a) MT103 file format file to be created through F110 - We have done only Standard Configuration - OBPM1 / OBPM3 / FBZP / OBPM4

b) Place the files in the secured FTP folder - This is done when you execute F110 (as the file paths are maintained in OBPM4). These files are stored in one of our secured folder.

c) Our banker has given access to their banking portal. Our payments team login to that bank portal and submit the file. If there are any errors on the file, the banking portal gives the errors for that particular payment and we have option to correct them manually before submit to the bank. Mostly 99 percent of the payments will go through first time.

Please note there is no mechanism that file are transmitted directly from SAP to bank. This is NOT going to happen. Generation of the file to a folder is end of SAP Job. Then manually, you need to submit the file to the bank.

Hope this helps.

Ravi

Ravi, if I understand you, are you saying if I cannot find via google or via phone call or any online contact form (including email address and fax) answer on the question what file format is needed, then I should automatically assume that file format is MT103?

Ravi, regarding your ABC approach: I don't see any point in your B approach. You said ''our FTP'''? Whos FTP? Who is this ''our''? The file need to go to the bank's FTP so payment request can be processed. Via F110 the file should be sent to the bank - to their FTP. If bank doesn't receive the file, their automated system (located behind FTP) cannot process it. You are saying there is no mechanism that file are transmitted directly from SAP to bank. I think you are saying ''to bank's FTP'', right? But I should still have an option to manually, outside of sap, upload to file to bank's FTP. I have never heard about this - all of the sources I used to read in the past, every FICO consultant with who I spoke, always told me that using F110 file has to be transmitted to the bank's FTP. Very weird.

However it is beyond my understanding why would I be able to transmit to own FTP using F110 but not to bank's FTP? Anyway, the topic of my problem is different - I would like to know how to obtain details.

Regarding your C approach: There are no such bank portals here unless you mean online banking application also called as ebanking. However there files cannot be uploaded, at least not for my account and I have over 100 active bank accounts worldwide. Nowhere inside ebanking is any place to upload such file.

Cecil D'Souza; Yes as you said my problem is not technical, thats why I am talking only about OBTAINING (getting) the actual required details. I don't have any manager consultant. If I had one, I would ask already. You told me the vendor needs to get those required details (for f110, dmee t codes purpose). I discussed that with vendors. They don't have any experiences in sap, so all work, all responsibilites are on me. Neither vendors nor me are not able to get those details. I also tried personally to obtain them for my own accounts I have, worldwide in many countries. No success so far. I contacted IT departments too but they didn't understand me, neither the sample of the file I sent to them. Does exist any universal electronic document, guaranteed to be understood in each and every country, which I could just pass to the bank? I might really need to change approach of obtaining those details but so far I tried everything.

Hi Claudia,

setting up banking relationship in SAP is not a trivial task and requires a project. in the least, your company's treasury needs to be involved as they control the banking relationships. no one has forgotten about you and the advice given so far has been very relevant.

what if the bank doesn't want to use FTP? is your infrastructure ready for security required by banks? is your SAP system on the latest support stack if your bank requires it?

what may seem like a few transactions in SAPGUI may turn into multiphase IT integration project.

good luck,

greg

Former Member

Gregory there were no advices given so far. I might not be understandable enough. It is all about getting the file structure defined according to three main parameters well known by everyone. Those three main parameters define how will file structure look like. Also its all about getting the details such as file format value, file standard value as well as file type value. If the bank doesn't use FTP, which I have no idea how could that be possible, then there are two more options. First is to upload the bank message file produced by sap (payment request file) to the online banking on the bank's website. Second is to use bank's own either desktop or web application for such file uploading. Those two options both include the fact that the file must be downloaded ( ! ) from sap and then manually uploaded.

The problem is in getting file structure and details (including ftp). So in the SPEECH with bank's employee. This is where I need help.

Main problem remains. I don't know how and where to get file structure per predefined (by me) 3 major parameters and the rest of needed details. Calling banks, messaging them makes no progress.

not sure if this is the right combination of bank, country, payment method, and your SAP system, but i would be looking for a similar document from your project team members: https://www.jpmorgan.com/cm/BlobServer?blobkey=id&blobnocache=true&blobwhere=1320670445071&blobheade...

especially the section dealing with pain.001.001.nn. the most current SWIFT standard could be obtained directly from iso.ch at some point.

Former Member

I already have that document for this particular bank but thank you anyway for taking the time to share it for me. A lot of details are missing there. For file structure should always be 3 major parameters, (1. payment method, 2. internal/domestic/international, 3. incoming/outgoing) that define how will structure/layout look like, given. Obviously along format, standard and type. In this document as you see FTP details and FTP login credentials aren't said anywhere.

I assume it is still not understandable what exactly I am looking for. Method, appropriate way of asking (way of communication), how to obtain needed details on my own. Ideally in some third party database without needing to waste weeks for nothing explaining to financial institutions' employees what is needed.

Former Member

due to complexity of the setup your business requirements may turn quickly into technical ones. since this is mainly a technical forum my experience tells me that the more specific the question the more chances you have to get a good answer. general questions get general answers, if any.

so, my method has been configuring a test format in development system and sharing it with business. usually, i would reach a specific point where i couldn't move any further and share that detail with business. if it's their priority, then they will try to help me and identify the relevant experts (in controls, treasury, IT, etc) and help communicate with the bank. i'm not even sure if you really need FTP or if there's an IT group that will handle it for you.

if i look at the specific configuration in my development system in OBPM4 SAP provides the following:

File Name in the File System

    Complete Name for Sequential File

Use

    Output in file system.

The file can be written to the file system if required. Using DME

administration, you can copy the file created to a PC. You have to

search for files with download, since the data media are not managed

within the SAP System; they were filed in the file system by the payment

    medium program.

    Proceed

If the file name is not defaulted by the parameters, it is generated by

the program. It then consists of the disk format, date and time of

creation and a sequential number in order to ensure that the file name

only exists once in the file system.

If the user defines the file name, a four character sequential number is

also assigned. From an organizational point of view however, you must

ensure that existing files are not overwritten, since once 9999 files

have been created, the numbering starts from 1 again.

Note: If you cannot find the file using DME administration, this could

be for the following reason: The directory that was used when starting

the payment media program (for example, in background processing),

cannot be read online. You should therefore choose a directory that can

be written to and read by different machines.

As a result of the problems described above, and the resulting lack of

data security, we do not recommend the output to the file system (my highlighting).        This method is only recommended if the data medium file is retrieved by an

external program for forwarding to the bank from the file system.

      TemSe output

If required, the file created can be held within the SAP System (saved

in TemSe, not filed in the file system), and therefore protected from

external access. The file can be downloaded to the user's file system

      via DME administration.

You can define the name of the file to be created during the download

when you execute the payment media program. The content of the

parameters for the file names is then stored in the management data and

proposed when you execute the download.

     Proceed

     Example

     /usr/sap/dta/<file name> or C:\DTA\<file name>

     Note

Depending on the operating system used (for example, Unix), you should

consider the difference between upper and lower case when specifying the

     file name.

i can't imagine trying to make it work without the financial institution being involved as only they can confirm the payment request from your business and confirm the status of such a request.

i wish it were simpler, but for many reasons it is not. does this answer your question?

Former Member
0 Kudos

You asked me if this anyhow answers my question. No, unfortunately it doesn't. Even more - I still cannot see any relation between what are you saying and what I am asking.

Ravi Sankar Venna also disappeared, I don't know where is he.

Not sure how else to get needed info and needed file structure. I basically tried everything. Fortunately I have some online calling service which isn't so expensive as calls would be from my own physical phone but cannot be calling endlessly for nothing. No idea what else to do. Tried basically everything, countless of different kind of explanations, absolutelly nothing helped. All the time same answers - noone of financial institution employees has ever heard of what I am talking about.

This is the 20th message inside this particular topic here on scn discussion board. I have instinct that I am not understandable not even to people here on this discussion board. Perhaps I might try some other way of explaining here on discussion board so people will finally understand that the problem is in COMMUNICATION with financial institution employee (it department, technical department,...) since noone understands FTPs, file structures, file formats, file standards, file types, etc. Gregory I appreciate your time for me, thank you but i am not sure what were you referring to - I have never been asking, or at least not yet, about how to use file structures, how to configure something, etc.

Very much confused and exhausted about obtaining necessary info. Perhaps I will need to make another topic here and describe more clearly that my problem is in getting details with file structure from the bank. Here I am keep getting answers about what to do with those details. I haven't been asking this.

It seems that ever since you put out your issue on the board, you expected somebody to just give you the answer. I am sure that people would like to help and give you some leads but nobody can actually fulfill your requirements if you yourself are not able to justify your requirement.

For example, you stated that you don't have a Manager. So, can you please let us know if you work for a one man company, or if you are the only person in your department with no colleagues or peers. If you don't have a Manager, who gives you the work on a daily basis?.  Your Director?. Who oversees your work and who agrees to what, when and how the tasks are done?. It is obvious that you cannot be working in a company without a Manager. So why don't you escalate this to the next person up the chain?. A reversal of 'delegation of authority'. Somebody delegated a task to you. You go back to that person to clarify the requirement or state your handicap or limitations to go forward.

A company or department has a business requirement. In order to fulfill that requirement, a set of tasks have to be initiated and the business need analyzed before a detailed plan is created to move forward. There has to be a Manager who oversees this project where the requirement originates. So you should be only trying to gather information that is required to outline the necessary details for your business requirement. It does not matter at this time whether it is SAP or Oracle. To accomplish what you need, you or your Manager has to answer the questions related to this business requirement.

1. What is the business requirement?.

2. Who are the people responsible for this requirement?.

3. Who is the Manager responsible to fulfill this requirement?.

4. Does this requirement entail internal customers or external customers or both?.

5. Is a team involved to accomplish this task(s) or is it just an individual?.

6. Does this requirement involve just the business group or does it involve the IT group as well.

7. Based on your requirement, you need to figure out who the customer is and what is required of that customer?.

8. You will need to find out if your business requirement can be fulfilled now by contacting the relevant personnel on the customer side.

    a. Do they do electronic banking?.

If they don't (which is rare), then case closed for that customer?.

If yes, with whom and for how long?.

Request for some details about their electronic banking - something on the lines of what Ravi had stated reqarding customer/vendor and what Gagan Pareek has outlined in 1-5. This can come only from the IT department. And unless there is a legal business agreement between the entities involved, nobody will be authorized to give you, the IT departments or the business group any information.

This is only a small start about trying to accomplish what you want. This is not a case of waking up suddenly with some need and flipping a switch and expecting things to happen just because you want to accomplish something. If the requirement came from a business source, you or your Manager have to go back to that source to determine if there is a proper infrastructure in place to start the process. Keep in mind that people surely want to help you but one cannot know what your company's protocol is with regard to gathering requirements and analyzing how to get the details, formats and mode of transfer from your customers.

Hi Claudia,

Apologies for not replying. I am just reading through the answers of the other expert. I am not disappeared yet 🙂

To be honest, I have experience in implementing BACS, CHAPS, ACH, ACH IAT, MT103. I never had a requirement to contact multiple banks. It is only required to contact contact your banker.

Fortunately, there is lot of literature on this subject in SCN. Personally, myself has replied to number of threads / discussion on this subject. Please search the forum with GB_BACS or ZGB_BACS.

The files formats are pretty basic configurations. A SAP FICO Consultant with 4-5 years of experience should be able complete the configuration and generate the files independently. If any minor corrections can be dealt through changing the function module / adjusting the DMEE.

To be honest, after all this long discussion, apologies, I could not understand what we are trying to achieve. I could only sense, there is a clear misunderstanding in gathering the business requirements or not sure what is required to be achieved.

May be it is worth to revisit the business requirements with all the concerned stakeholders from the business / technical teams.

Hope this helps.

Kind Regards,

Ravi

Hi Claudia,

are you familiar with SAP Notes? i recommend https://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/1062489 as a good starting point. maybe you can also ask your bank about Swift, ISO20022, and SEPA. I also recommend SEPA-Umstellung mit SAP. von Jürgen Weiss (unfortunately still only in German) and Maximizing Cash Management with SAP ERP Financials. v - by SAP PRESS

if your bank wants your business they will work with you, but try to work with people inside your organization too.

Just finished 20 calls, 8 banks and 4 credit unions within USA. 4 European ones, 2 Australian ones, 2 African. Here are few most common answers:

"We don't have this in our bank"

"We don't offer any payment files to our clients"

"I have never heard about file structures"

"Are you talking about SAP or SAB? I am not aware of SAP and what service this is. We don't have this department."

"There are no field elements with bytes or charachters limitation defined anywhere in our documentation."

"I asked several available co-employees, we are not aware of FTP term"

"I have no idea what file format is"

"We don't use iso 20022 neither any other file standard"

"There are no XML files that we could offer"

"Payment information is discussed either in the branch or typed in secure online banking"

"We don't work with DME Data Medium Exchange"

"We accept payment to vendors in online banking but that doesn't involve uploading of any files anywhere. There is no uploading location anywhere."

Not a single success. Gregory the first link you provided is under login requirement.

Cecil I am self employed with my own business. There is no department at all on my side. Its only me. Yes I contacted IT departments too. If you could, please kindly see my reply to Gregory Misiorek I did today and you will see what kind of answers I was getting. As much as I respect the financial institutions employees, they simply don't know what those files are. Even if I am using legitimate internet based phone, I still have to pay for costs of calls. Calling multiple times on the other sides of the planet isn't cheap. I was also trying to explain them in different way what I would be doing with file structure - why I need the file to be provided, its type, its standard, its format as well as FTP details. In one approach of detailed explanation I was stopped as soon as I said term ''uploading of file''. Noone knows FICO module. Noone knows SAP in so far over 60+ financial institutions I have called. In USA, when I mentioned in one of explanations what I need the term ''FICO'', I promise that I got the following answer:

"For FICO score inquiries, you need to contact mortgage department."

Cecil Im not sure how much experiences you have with USA banking but if you know what ''fico score'' is then this quoted answer should tell you everything about in what kind of situation I am.

Obviously I didn't expect them to know ''FICO'' term anyway, thats why I tried many different ways to be understandable what is needed. Nothing provided.

Hi Claudia,

I would surprised if they do not not accept payment files. Now a days small cooperative banks are capable of doing this. These are world famous bank, if they do not have a technology to make simple payments through file, it is unbelievable.

Claudia,

you are showing a commendable tenacity and SAP should be thankful for promoting their solutions to the financial institutions which may not know what they are using or are not interested in sharing that information for some reason.

maybe you should get invited to this event: http://us.tacook.com/events/conferences/details/sap-conference-for-treasury-management-2015/reasonst...

i have never attended but recognize some of the names and solutions listed there. this could also be an opportunity to meet 'more knowledgeable' bankers, ie those who know what ISO20022 is, there as well. they could also be a good audience to share your frustrations with.

i would also advise you to get access to SMP, so you can read SAP Notes.

cheers,

greg

Ravi thank you for those links. However needed infos are missing here. Nowhere are said FTP details and login credentials to FTP. Also how file structure looks like depends on:

- incoming / outgoing

- payment method

- internal / domestic / international

Those infos are needed. However what I will do is note down on some paper new important keywords from the links you provided and will try to explain the request again - this time using written keywords. Perhaps employee will hopefully know what i mean when i say any of those keywords. Worth a try.

Ravi, an off-topic question if you don't mind: I tried to search in yellow pages the contact info in Birmingham for your company ERP Experts UK Limited but don't think there is one (publically available contact info). For need other than my main issue is (obtaining those needed details), so for file format in command DMEE (upload feature), I would like to contact your team too... Any contact info available? Is paid consulting for individuals too? You don't have contact of your friends in the company in your profile here on discussion board.

Meanwhile im still trying hard to get those needed details, specially file structure and ftp info.

Hi Claudia..

Your problem or issue is more about connectivity to the bank FTP location. plainly you need to have a coonectivity access to be able to place the file on the bank ftp location. The banks cannot give you their ftp location. i.e if you are sending this mesages via swift connectivity you will have this information provided to you by swift. send me a private email at networktelexeu@gmail.com

I might be able to help with some solution.

Hi Claudia,

the FTP file is an internal file isn't it, do u have the access. i believe they wont give u the FTP path and Login Credentials to u.

For the

file format

file type (file extension)

file layout

file standard

just ask them to send their file to you, and you sort it out by yourself based on the file given by them.

Thanks

Mohd how could I ask them for a file if noone knows anything about this? Noone has ever heard for ''Bank Message Files'' and I contacted over 20 banks. Contacted technical department, IT department, customer support, etc. Noone knows anything. I was getting answers that they have never heard about that. I think you misunderstood the meaning of the content, could you please read it again?

FTP and FTP's login (if login is needed) is a part of F110 requirement in order to use it.
