MRP terminating for one material

Hi,

MRP background job working fine without any error messages. But for one material which is having MRP Type V1 getting terminated with message 8 which can see in MRP spool.  Please suggest why it is terminating.

  Please share the screen shot of MD05 for that material.

It could be also  because of Factory calendar as it can be long lead time material.So please also check the Factory calendar. (Because as we are in year end I suspecting it as one of the reason)

Checked in MD05. The last MRP run occured on 14th Oct.  Want to know why failed on 15th & 16th .

Hi Caetano,

Thanks for your response. Tried to run MRP using MD02 , it look ok. In MD05 the last MRP run shown as today's date also planning file entries creation date updated in table DBVM with today's date. The issue is with background job only. System terminating this material with message 8. Could you please through some light on this?

Try to check if this material appears on report RMMDERRO.

That does not make sense to me.

If a termination is still happening during the MRP run, you should be able to see an error on transaction MD05 or RMMDERRO.

If I create planning file entry manually, on that day system considering for MRP run in background job. Next day system not considering for MRP run. Please suggest. Is there any way to create planning file entry permanently rather than daily.

The planning file flags are checked automatically after each MRP relevant change for a material. If you want to ensure that all the materials will be planned, then you must run MRP with key NEUPL.

You can find details about the termination on the MRP list (transaction MD05). See the blog  which explains why it's so important to use this transaction to analyze the MRP results.
