Hello

Can we run FIM on HANA (i.e not the source/target system, but the DB that FIM uses itself) ?

Thanks

Jochem

Hello Jochem

Yes, it can. In the FIM admin console, make sure to select the HANA option in the drop-down

Note: make sure you have installed the HANA client (64 bit) on the FIM server

Thanks

Hello Marc

Thanks for your answer. However, I do not have this option on my FIM server, it only has SQL and Oracle.

I have installed the HANA client, so i assumed the option would become active

What am I doing wrong here?

Hello Jochem

Are you on the correct SP level?

HANA support was only introduced in SP10, so if you are on a lower level, you won't have this option.

Hi Marc

If I upgrade to FIM SP10, does that mean I also need to go to Tomcat 7 ?

Jochem,

No that is not needed, but you may need some specific configuration

See:

FIM SP10 and Tomcat7 | SCN

and

https://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/1980130

PS. if you are upgrading, I would recommend using the latest SP, which is FIM 10.0 SP13 patch 3

Hello

I have a follow up

When opening the FIM mapping tables, I get this message

com.sap.fpm.fim.common.webservice.WSException: Failed while calling the 'Finance' system to perform the 'getDimensionsInfos' action.

javax.xml.ws.soap.SOAPFaultException: System.Web.Services.Protocols.SoapException: Failed to invoke service ---> System.Runtime.InteropServices.COMException (0x80041618): Exception from HRESULT: 0x80041618

What does this mean?

Jochem

Seems like you are using FC (as source or target)

The error indicates the web-services are not responding, please check this:

http://wiki.scn.sap.com/wiki/display/CPM/Financial+Consolidation+-+testing+the+webservices

and

1653501 - BFC: Error message when testing webservices deployment

Hi Jochem,

The error is because the Finance application(model) is not responding. Please check the finance model whether it is working or not.

Thanks

Srikanth
