Transfer the Equipment from one to another plant...

Dears Experts,

  I have one requirement, Currently my client using four plants and 1000 equipment's, now they are going to compress all four plants in to one plant,

in that same how to move the 1000 equipment to one plant, please assist me it is very urgent...

Example:

Four           One

Plants        Plant

    Since these equipments must have been maintained in asset master,keep a common id for these materials and move it with reference to that id.

    This can be achieved in Asset Master-AS02.Even the plant can be changed.

    The question is when from this asset will be operational for P & L and BS purposes and for depreciation.

    Hi Sivakumar

    What I have done in the past is this.

    Create a new functional location structure in the new plant as FL's in older plants had labels that did not suit the new plant. I could have used label functions to re-assign FLs from old to new plants but I didn't try that as most of technical history was maintained on equipments not FLs.

    As for equipment, you cannot change the maintenance plant while the equipment is installed on a functional location. So first the equipment has to be dismantled and then the plant can be changed.

    So I wrote an ABAP routine through recording (I think it is called BDC or LSMW) which took a list of equipments as input from excel file, dismantled each equipment and changed the maintenance plant as well as other fields like cost center etc. In this way thousands of equipment records were re-assigned. You can also do that manually for each equipment but that will take time.

    Hi Siva,

    You can do via LSMW.

    The main challenge will be building the Master data.Try to get the equipment / Functional Location with Superior Level.

    First you need to change the superior and followed by lower levels.

    We have done some thing similar in my earlier project. We grouped all superior equipments Level 1, Level 2, Level 3 etc.Load the data level wise, which reduced the impacts.

    Additionally you will have impacts on Notification /Work Order/ Task List/ Maintenance Plan so need to check it.
