Step by step document on Dashboard selectors with BEX as datasource

Hi, all.

I am brand new to Xcelsius/Dashboard. I understand that Dashboard is not in SAP's future strategy anymore. However, I want to compare the functionality between Dashboard and Designer Studio.

Can you please point me to any step by step article on using BEX(BICS connection) as datasource while selectors are involved? Most article I found are excel spreadsheet based datasource. However, I am really confused when trying to link the selector with a BEX query.

Thanks in advance,

Jonathan.

Check this.

I have included the selector functionality, but you can create prompt either in bex or dashboard level and you can use them using query prompt selector. Please revert for any clarification.

Thanks, Suman.

I saw your blog already which is very detail and well explained. However, do you know of any example on using selector with BICS(from BEX queries)? Do you always map the BEX data into excel first? The biggest issue of course is sometimes you don't know how many rows are there in advance.

Regarding the selector will update with the screenshots soon. Taking the data into the excel depends on the logic, if i need to do some calculations then i will take them into the excel else we can bind the data directly into the components. Also we need to make sure with the functional team how much the data can be increased so that i can take the max range.
