Non-Productive Contracts

Dear Experts, my company is whiling to implement in SAP the non-productive contracts management, which is currently managed manually.

Non-productive contracts are those ones for services not directly related with productive value chain. Examples are: Software Maintenance, Telecom Providers, Food Services, etc.

I was looking for documents that could help us to decide the best implementation scenario and I found the BP doc #376 (Procurement Contract with Purchase Requisition and Approval Workflow).

The problem is it only describes how to create a Quantity Contract, not mention anything about Value Contracts, which is seems to me a way to go.

Do you guys know if I can use the same BP to implement such contracts I have described?

Thanks

GA.

    Hi,

You can use the same BP for value contract as well, with the difference in document type (WK) and the header target value. Refer the doc: http://www.sapience-solutions.com/resources/Outline%20agreements%20in%20SAP.pdf

Business can adopt any document type. You can easily understand from SAP documentation on difference between value and quantity contracts. You do not need Purchase Req to create the contracts as this is optional.I would recommend to use value contracts as you will get following benefits

    1. You will have validity date + overall spend limit

    2. You can mention as many as services for which you can create release orders based on your need for the service and you can reuse those services until you have some value in the contract

    I hope this helps.
