Implement UI5 App on ERP or WAS system?

Hi guys,

a general question regarding the implementation of a new UI5 app:

Should you develop the app on the web application server and communicate with the backend via RFC calls or should you implement the whole app on the backend system? The disadvantage for the second approach is, that the user has to be connected to a VPN to access the app from outside the company network. But beside from that, is there any recommended approach?

Using a gateway hub, you can implement your logic in the ERP system and deploy your ui5/GW on the WAS system.
