user rights to see promotion manager's instances in Instance Manager

Hi Community members,

i have little problem with promotion management, I've already sent incident to SAP, but also i have a little querstion related, but not beeing part of my problem. What rights user has to be granted to see successfull/failed promotion jobs from promotion manager. User that has full controll on promotion management application and also on the content being promoted can't see status of promotion in instance manager.

Is there any detailed documentation about rights management? Most of things i have to do by testing the rights given, and like in this case I'm not sure which rights are resposinsible for the instance manager, because i can't find it in cmc->applications.

    Finally i found solution for both problems:

    visibility of promotion job instances in Instance Manager and also possibility of running promotion jobs. To fix both I had to add just one user right for the user on LCM folder containing promotion job:

    General->general->View document instances

    Hi,

    1. Login to CMC -> User and Groups
    2. Highlight the required group,right
      click on it and click Add members to group.
    3. Add users from the list of users
      available and click Ok.
    4. From the dropdown at the top, select
      Applications.
    5. Right click on CMC->
      Manage->Security->User Security
    6. Click on Add Principals.
    7. Add the required group and click on Add
      and Assign security.
    8. Uncheck the Inheritance and click on
      Advanced->Add/Remove Rights.
    9. Expand Application and click on CMC
    10. From the right side pane choose Granted
      option for "Allow access to Instance Manager".
    11. Click on Apply and then Ok
    12. Now when logged into CMC with the user
      from the above group, they see the Instance Manager.

    Reagrds,

    Rajshree

    Or if you are on 4.1, some versions of 4.0 , you can use delegated admin option, just give grants on Instance Manager for that group.

    Right click on the group, select option 'CMC Tab configuration' and select 'Instance manager' and give 'Grant'

    Thanks Rajshree and Jawahar for the answers.

    Now i can see that my post wasn't precise enough.

    My version of BI is 4.1sp6.

    My user has access to Instance Manager (not by delegated admin option, but it has given right 'Allow access to Instance Manager' in Applications->CMC->User Security).

    User can see Instance Manager, but he can't see promotion jobs there.Report instances statuses are visible, but not promotion management jobs.

    I have an issue, that this (and eny other non admin user) user has problems with running promotion management jobs (even with full rights to promotion management). Maybe this problem is related to lack of promotion jobs in instance manager?

      For using AD accounts for promotion management, did you added this parameter to Adaptive Job server Djava.security.auth.login.config= {Example)}E:/WINNT/bsclogin.conf,Djava.security.krb5.conf={Example)} E:/WINNT/krb5.ini
