Hi All,
Had a basic question about using campaigns in Hybris Marketing. We were trying to build a scenario of creating TG and executing campaigns in Hybris Marketing. Wanted to know why only Target Group of type contacts is allowed to be attached to a campaign and not Target group of other types such as ERP Customer or CRM Customers. What is the reason behind that? Also this brings a fundamental question of what actually contacts comprise of? like Prospects, CRM BPs, ERP BPs? and where does it take the data from? If some expert can throw light on this that would be great. We ran the report CUAN_IC_MASTERDATA_EXTR_FULL to extract Contact data from SAP CRM but i wasn't sure as to exactly what it is doing?

I agree with your observation that target groups created from contact segmentation are only allowed for campaigns. In fact, most of the functionality in yMKT such as contact fact sheet, customer journey, contact engagement are based on contacts only. "interaction contact" is the core of interaction data model in yMKT.
The Interaction Contact represents all External persons like Prospects, Consumers (B2C), Contacts (B2B), Customers, Unknown web visitors, Corporate Accounts (companies). For more info, look for EKT material in our learning hub.
Even the customer data from SAP ERP/CRM will be loaded into "contact" tables when you run the report you are referring.

Old Target Groups based on CRM or ERP BPs can still be used if you had in the past thus a Target Group.

But from 1505 it is no more possible. I think it also maeke sense.

I am Madhu , working on Hybris Marketing POC.
While creating a campaign in Hybris we can see the CRM Campaign id choice. what does it really controls in the functionality?
Because we are already trying to create a new Campaign here , but what is the importance of CRM Campaign Id here.

Marketing has up to three schema
The ERP and CRM focus on accounts. A commercial account may have multiple contacts attached to it.
ERP and CRM data are replicated from their source system using SLT. That brings in both account and contact data. To push the contact date from the replicated ERP or replicated CRM schema into the contace / interaction schema you run CUAN_IC_MASTERDATA_EXTR_FULL.
