doors in material GR

Hi,

Our warehouse has 4 receiving ramps with one door per ramp. The materials are physically unloaded and kept besides each door before they are put away into the final bin. As per std SAP when the 101 for the purchase order is done the mtl goes to 902 storage type with the dynamic bin = purchase order number. We would like to track the material in the interim storage type such that we can locate exactly in which interim bin the material is located. Is there a way this can be met ? I was thinking of using the door and the material staging area but I dont see it showing up on the MIGO screen or the transfer requirement. We dont want to use inbound deliveries.

Thanks

With my experience you can use the Door and material staging area only when you are following the receipt via Inbound delivery route where during delivery creation you can assign a door and material staging area and that will carry forward in all other subsequent document (TO)

if you are planning to use IM(MIGO)  first and then WM then I don't think that you can use the Door and Material staging area functionality. If I remember correctly then you will not find any field in table TR table (LTBP / LTBK)  and Material documents (MSEG)  related to Door or material staging area.

ok thats what I felt as well. Is there any way where with IBD we can do a GR first via MIGO and then do the putaway. It looks as though the putaway needs to happen first and then the GR needs to be posted when one used an IBD.

Is there any way where with IBD we can do a GR first via MIGO and then do the putaway-- Normally in WM we have two approach IM first then WM or WM first and then IM

if I understood your query correctly then you want to do PGR first  (IM) for the inbound delivery and then Putaway (WM), if my understanding is correct then that is possible only with Handling unit management
