Compression Initialization / delta Inventory for BW for 0IC_C03 BW on Hana

Hi Gurus,

Is for BW 7.31 Sp 9 necessary to compress (for Initialization or delta) the infocube 0IC_C03 like previous version using "No Marker uptade" ? in this version of BW don´t have this option, only have zero elimination.

I use this guide

http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/50df1d69-4d86-2f10-a2ac-8b95b98dbe85?QuickLink=index&…

The other steps are clear

    Hi Juan,

Please refer to section 5.1 in the doc you linked to. To quote the relevant bits:

Instead of setting the flag for Marker update during the compression of an InfoCube you now have to decide within the DTP whether the records are treated to be historical transactions or deltas. That means the logic of the marker update had been pushed down to the data staging DTPs.

Which means that the process of updating the marker has been replaced by the process of updating the "Historic Movements" flag in the DTP.

    Also,

Compression of the InfoCube does not change the value of the Initialization any longer. The concept of the previous known reference point in infinity changed. Therefore the keyfigures of the Initialization request remain unchanged during compression. This was completely different before, as all the delta movements led to an update of the reference point.

What this means is that there is no marker to update any more. In the old world, the "Marker update" concept was required because a marker existed at infinity (31.12.9999) and the KFs for this marker had to be updated each time you compressed. As there isn't an infinity marker any more, the need to update it doesn't arise either. This is why you don't even see the checkbox in 7.4 on HANA.

    Regards,

    Suhas

    Hi Juan,

I suggest to move this discussion to SAP BW Powered by SAP HANA.

    Best regards,

    Sander
