Check metrics in technical monitoring (f.e. with button "check now")

Hello experts,

We are starting to use technical monitoring in SAP Solution Manager 7.10 SP12.

Some metrics are checked every 5min. and some every hour. But is there a way to push a direct check. Like with a button "check now" in the alerting inbox of the technical monitoring work center?

Hi Kenny,As far as I know here is no possibility available to trigger the data collection manually. If the collection interval does not match to your needs, you can modify the data collection period of the given metrics and save the changes in a custom template. If you only want to check the current value of some metrics(s), you may use the report in tx MAI_Tools -> Activate expert mode -> Data Provider check for Pull RFC's or use the Simulation tab. I hope this helps.

Hi Kenny,

You can go to transaction mai_tools.

Here using the Managed Object ID and metric ID, which can be found in the directory browser, you can input these details and click execute.

Please see screenshot:

The directory browser is access from Step 6 of Technical Monitoring, in previous step 5, you will need to select the required managed object.
