Cost center accounting - Question

Hi,

I have an urgent need to replace the cost center standard hierarchy with the Alternative hierarchy that is already available. I dont have Business organization implemented so I cannot use Keog3...I need to know if there is any other way to do this..

this is super urgent...please help...

You can change the standard hierarchy in either OKEON - Change or OKEON - Change.

thanks for the reply...but what I am looking for is not a change in the standard hierarchy but to replace it...let me try and explain....

there is this alternate hierarchy called "abc" and a standard hierarchy called "Pqr". Now the company is wanting to replace the pqr with abc....i am not sure if there is a transaction available for this....or if you have any idea to do this in a couple of steps. The need is really urgent for the company...if you can tell me if there is any sap notes in OSS which I can refer and run also it would be great...thanks a million for your response..I will await your response...

All nodes below the top node can be replaced. You can rebuild the standard hierarchy. The top node description can al;so be changed. Keep in mind the standard hierarchy should be designed so that the structure is for cost center master validation. The standard hierarchy should not be relied on for flexible reporting needs. Cost center groups and alternate hierarchies should be used for this. Here's some notes from the IMG;

In this activity, you maintain the relevant standard hierarchy for your controlling area.

You can either change an existing hierarchy or create a new one.
