Purchase Order Workflow Problem

Hi experts,

I have create workflow for PO which has to be fired when PO is released.

User-mm creates the PO and releases it. But the mail fires for User-mm(Outbox) and all users i.e Level1(Inbox) Level2(Inbox) Level3(Inbox) Level4(Inbox) which is wrong.

Actually as per hierarchy when User-mm releases the PO mail should be fired to User-mm(outbox) and Level1(Inbox),

then when Level1 releases the PO mail should be fired to Level1(Outbox) and Level2(Inbox),

then when Level2 releases the PO mail to Level2(Outbox) and Level3(Inbox) and so on for next Levels....

Please suggest me where i am wrong...

    Do you mean email or workitem?

    Look in the workflow log (SWI1) and compare with the workflow template (e.g. PFTC_DIS), it will show you exactly what it's doing and why.

    Which event are you using ?

    If what you want to do is to alert the next approver of the release strategy that he received a workitem why not using the standard step and send it with the extended notification ?

    When the user creates the PO the release strategy starts, a release step is being created and trigger the event to start the workflow, L1 user will receive a workitem using extended notification you will send this workitem alert via email,

    When L1 approves the next release step is created and triggers the workflow L2 is determined a workitem is sent and the extended notification will send the mail ...;

    I think that is all you need, pretty standard stuff

    PS: Look for extended notification configuration
