SAP Work Manager 6.3.1 WPF client and Visual Enterprise

Hi - I'm trying to integrate WM6.3.1 with VE and have followed the 'Software development kit for mobile applications V6.1'

I've downloaded..

SAP mobile EAM SDK version 2.1

SAP 3D Visual Enterprise applications SDK 2.4

and copied the relevant DLL's to the Agentry client folder v70.14.0.37

so the folder looks like attachment attach1. attach1.png

I have copied an example file to a work order and can see in work manager attach2.

attach2.png

When I select I see attach3. attach3.png

I know the guide is pretty old, but have successfully used for GIS integration. Can anyone tell me what I'm missing.

Thanks

Stu

Stu,

Hi. We will try to forward this question to the team who designed the app to see if they can respond to this thread directly. Hope they are able to assist.

Hi Stuart,

We are also trying same thing for our internal landscape.

Could please share me some reference documents and links for this if you have?

Your help would be appreciated!!

Thanks,

Sudhir.

Hi Sudhir,

You need to get the relevant files from SMP SDK, VE SDK and EAM SDK to build a client like the attachment client.png and also include the DVL_Win32.dll file that Bill mentioned in the agentry client.

Make sure you are on SMP SDK SP11 for the Agentry client. Then add the example .vds files from the VE SDK as attachments in SAP and open via the attachment processing in work manager, this will launch the VE viewer, make sure to not have the work manager client window maximized when launching as it does not work in full screen.

Thanks

Stu

Try including DVL_Win32.dll in the WPF client directory alongside the other DVL dlls. Otherwise the files look to match mine. Could also be a version issue with the VE dlls and what the OpenUI control was built using.

Thanks Bill - that got me closer - now the client does not crash straight away and renders a player without any content in it - I'm assuming it is managing to find the file on the machine? Anyway this is what I now see..veplayer.png what versions of the client and the VE and EAM SDK are you successfully using ?

Thanks

I think you have it. That is a known issue with certain versions of the VE stuff. If the screen is "full screen" it doesn't render. I would suggest dropping back to the WPF client SP11 (before the change to the windowing where the back button was introduced) and then don't run it maximized. You can size it to fill the screen just don't maximize it.

I would also contact support and log a bug about it so it can get addressed.

I have it working with SP11 but not SP12 clients. I have not tried with the latest SP14. If I have time I might try a quick test.

Ok thanks Bill - will try on SP11, I only have access to VE SDK 2.4 hopefully it's just the SMP SDK that is not compatible. Will I also need a SP11 eclipse to import WM6.3 and publish back out of ?

It's for a client demo and not something we are looking to implement for real at the moment, but will raise an OSS ticket all the same. Does the older SP11 also use a different .net version - maybe that contributes to the issue, I seem to remember an auto update of .net on SP13 ?

I thought it might simply be not picking up the file correctly - filedata external field is left as standard MyDocuments and give a path of

C:\Users\murrays\Documents\.\Documents\SAP Pocket Knife.vds

which looks strange, although an image file has the same location and renders in WM when selecting it. I did also download the SAP VE viewer to check the example files from the SDK work - which they do..

Anyway I will give it a shot...

Thanks

This is a client only issue. Not something in the Editor. I would keep the editor and server versions with the latest. No need to back publish.

Hi Bill - Thanks for the help, it's now working perfectly with SP11, will raise an OSS incident for the later versions of the client.

Thanks

Stu,

Feedback from Work Manager Dev team who designed the app.

"they need a CustomControls directory there that includes the AgentryClientSolution.dll file provided with the mobile SDK. This file is required for all extensions that we provide (GIS, UI5, VE, AR)."

Basically your first picture (attach1) didn't show it that you have it and this is the root cause analysis of your question above.

Hope this helps.

Hi Mark - thanks for the reply - I did actually try adding that folder (as it's also required for GIS integration) but the client crashed when I did that. I will take another look.

Hi - I've added the customcontrols and have a client that looks like the attachment 'client' client.png whenever I attempt to open a downloaded vds file vdsfile.png the client now crashes crash.png and the log file suggests log.png i'm missing a file ?

Is there a certain combination of component versions or am I missing something here? Does anyone have an example WPF client that works for VE so I can check the files ?

Thanks

Stu
