MDG BP/Customer: How to Replace/update Temporary BP ID( eg $24) of BP with custom number range

Hello Experts,

I have a requirement to use a custom ( alpha numeric) number range in MDG for Customer Master data. we have created a class for alpha numeric number generator as per user specification.Now the requirement is that, in the MDG UI ( customer governance), while creating BP, user selects a role and based on this role the number generator should generate a number and assign to the BP.This should reflect in the BP ID field of the UI.I could not find a solution how to integrate number generator to replace the temporary number (eg. $24) generate by SAP.I have updated the UI field with custom feeder class ( CS_DATA) but it is not reflecting in the back end table BUT000.

but when the user enters a number manually in the UI, it gets changed and temporary key gets ( on the header/ top of UI )changed to entered number.

Though it is external numbering, when user selects a role based on that number generator gets called and generate the number and assign it to the BP.

I have tried to do with Cross Badi as well, but i could not change the key field in it.I think it has to be done from API and also in the Genil layer.

I had even thought of using Exchange_entity_key of API, but not sure how to proceed, and what the output would be.Experts, please help me.
