SAP NetWeaver 2004s - ABAP+J2EE Installation

Hi guys,

after some month far away from SAP NW I am back

As SAP has not been standing still during the time I have a lack in understanding everything now...

I have the following question:

is it possible to install the J2EE part of WAS later on an existing WAS ABAP?? Talking about SAP NetWeaver 2004s!

Example: installing a mySAP CRM 2005 on a WAS ABAP as no J2EE components are needed at the beginning. Later J2EE components may be required so we have to install WAS J2EE - prefered on the same server as the WAS ABAP instance...

So?

I dont know if i understood the question correctly but,

You can install the J2EE as part of a WAS, as an Add-on or standalone, so if you have an installation that requiere a J2EE you can always find a way to get your hands on one.

Hope this help.

Can we install the WAS ABAP first and after lets say 6 months the J2EE part too?

IC Web Client is not needed at the moment but may be in some months. As it needs the J2EE part we have to put that on top of the running WAS ABAP...

There is no restriction to add the JAVA stack (J2EE) to an existing ABAP stack. Or, you could install a standalone J2EE engine. Either way, you can run the IC Web Client.
