I am not clear about the working of Aggregates...
can any one give usefull info regarding these questions..
1.When OLAP processor is searching for data
2.See I made aggregation only one characterstic and other charcaterstic is not included in aggregate (F)..then how the data will be pulled.

Use of an aggregate is automatic, you don't need to do anything to the queries. The aggregate must contain all characteristics you are referencing in the InfoCube, including any characteristics you are using in any RKF or filters.
Best thing to do is go ahead and review a query that is run frequently in your shop - identify all the characteristics, filers, restrictions , if any, and then go ahead and create an aggregate. You can use RSRT in ebug mode to see if the aggregate is being used, or why it is not selected.
Best way to learn is to try it.
You'll also want to review the rollup and compression automatism settings.

Hi vasu,
Olap processor first searches for the data in local cache .If it does not find the data it searches global cache then aggregate (if applicable) and then Infocube.
...See I made aggregation only one characterstic and other charcaterstic is not included in aggregate (F)..then how the data will be pulled.
In this case, if the query has only one characteristic it uses aggregate else
if the query has different characteristics it pulls the data from the cube.
hope its clear.
reward if helpful.

Hi,
When looking for data OLAP processor looks for data in following sequence -
Local cache if not found then global cache if not found the look for relevant aggregates if not found then cube. I hope it answers your first question.
When pulling the data it summarize the data (Fey figures( based on the char you build your aggregate upon.
Share your mail id, should be able to mail you few docs.
