Excel Download Background & Foreground

Hi Abapers,

I have a query reagrding Excel download. Is it possible to download an Excel from SAP GUI both ForeGround and background using GUI_DOWNLOAD? I heard that it's not possible in the background as MS tools are not available when SAP GUI is not running.

Please let me know any alternatives for my situation.
