SM14: total number of update records with error is reducing

Hi Experts,

I noticed the total number of update records with error in SM14 is reducing without scheduling the background job - RSM13002.

Please refer to the parameters below:

The rdisp/vbdelete has default value 50 but when I check, the update records have already exceeded 50 days..

Can anyone tell me why it's reducing from time to time and where else should I check?

Many thanks in advance.

BR,

Nancy

Hi Nancy,

As you said, report RSM13002 can be used to delete update records.
I updates have dissapeared from SM13, they may also be directly deleted or re-processed from SM13.

Hi Nancy,

Parameter 'rdisp/vbdelete' specifies the duration in days (since last time application server was restarted) after which an update request is deleted. After this duration has expired, the update requests are deleted irrespective of their status.
Default value for parameter 'rdisp/vbdelete' is 50, which means that after that 50 days, remaining update requests on SM13 will be deleted.
This might be the reason of some updates which can no longer be found.

You mentioned that update records with 'Error' status is reducing. You mean they are no longer appearing, or updates in 'Error' status
have dissapeared from SM13?

Regards,
Raquel

Hi Raquel,

Thanks for the reply.

The start time of my application server is 17.11.2016 and my oldest update record with 'Error' in SM13 is 22.11.2016.

Yes they have disappeared after some time. It's there any report could delete the records other than RSM13002?

Many thanks in advance.

Nancy
