how to copy files from a source folder to multiple target folders w/o prog.

Hi,

I frequently need to copy <b>one or more</b> files from a KM folder to <b>several</b> other KM folders.

The standard ways of doing it, i.e. copy to <b>clipboard</b>, or <b>copy function</b> all suck, because once I copy to ONE target folder, I have to re-select or re-copy my source files for the next operation.

Is there a better way of doing it, <b>without programming</b> (or ICE)?

Regards

Lothar

hi,

This can also be done.

1.open the Detail dialog box for the folder "/documents".

2.Go to Settings->Properties.Click on 'Access Links' tab

3.Copy the WebDAV url and paste it in your browser.Open your KM Folder as a Web Folder after authentication for your credentials is done.

4.You could create folders just as you create them in your windows file system

5.Also you could copy documents from one folder to another(you need not recopy).

Hope it helps,

Dear Jules,

I know about the WebDAV option, but heard that I might lose some information when transferring files via WebDAV, e.g. version information and some meta data. Is that true?

hi lothar,

Check this document.

http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/56/60abeb28028d4fa84c2a81b730a498/frameset.htm

It is given that metadata can be written and read but i don't know how.

Regards,

Jules

Dear Detlev,

appreciate your feedback, but Portal drive does not work when accessing the portal via an IIS proxy.

Hm,

I wasn't aware that there is a problem with that. As far as I can tell, this really should be working.

Best regards, Julian

Dear Julian,

I agree, it SHOULD work, but it doesn't and I am sure SAP doesn't care very much, as IIS proxy is going to phased out, soon.
