I understand that this release (15) is validated for VS2015 and Windows 10, but I can't get it to install.
Where would I find the log file to see if that gives any help ?
I have checked to see if the problem is a previous attempt at installation but I can't see anything in "Uninstall or change program"
Any idea about what I should try next ?
Hi Robert,
Look in your \user\AppData\Local\Temp and crforvs_*.log for the file.
If it is small can you attach it to this post, I'll forward to DEV install team.
It could be either you are missing the 3.5 Framework, go to Programs and Features, click on the Turn Windows feature on or off:
And check that option on. You will also need the VS 2005 C++ Security update MSI installed for our DB drivers if it's not installed.
Also, just discovered, on Windows 10 x86 our install is looking for this registry key so you have to create it manually....
Please create a registry key SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\DevDiv\vs\Servicing\14.0\professional in HKLM
Create a String Value = Install and set it to "2"
Nothing in it is required, but I am confirming this also. For x64 Windows 10 it should not be a problem.

You were exactly right about adding 3.5 framework. I may have looked at that when I was searching for an answer and I may have thought that the black mark in the square meant it was installed (as you can see above for ".NET Framework 4.6 Advanced Services")
However, this time I clicked in the box, which then expanded. and the two items below had no check mark. Checking them and trying the installation again appears to have solved everything.
