[BUG]Comment editing (minor)

Jelena
Active Contributor

Some bugs when trying to edit a comment in the Coffee Corner discussions (may appear elsewhere). Can be remedied by refreshing the page and trying again. Not a major issue but needs to be looked into eventually.

1) If you just posted a comment and try to edit it immediately, the Actions menu is not displayed in full. This is all I get:

2) Clicked Actions -> Edit to edit my comment:

My comment disappeared and new comment window appeared in its place:

Not sure if something I was doing before may have triggered this last bug. Only happened once so far.

Hi,

I remember we reported a similar thing in BETA time

It's not quite the same, the box is not empty, it is just half-hidden. I remember the empty action box bug and it was fixed, I believe. Thanks for the reference though!

I stumble over 1) a lot! Thanks for fileing this bug for it!

My solution is - as you mention, too - to reload the page (F5), usually that works!

If I remember correctly for issue 1 the reason is, that the footer is overlaying the dropdown list.

Happened to me too yesterday and today... It only happens immediately after I post a comment. If I refresh the page, it works fine.

Hm, in my experience (using FF 51.0.1), it does not display correctly even after refreshing the page...

It should be noted that you need to know about the possible actions (and Jelena surely does know), otherwise you will not even try to scroll through the "invisible" entries within the scroll list...

Volker - I ran into this today too, didn't work even after the refresh. I believe this happens when your comment is way down in a large comment "tree".
