C4C: problems with ERP integration

Former Member

Hi experts,

we tried to connect C4C with our onPremise ERP System via PI - but have problems:

Landscape:

PI and ERP communicate via RFC

C4C and PI communicate via HTTPS (Service URLs)

ERP and PI are in DMZ because of architectural reasons

The communication of cloud to PI is not guaranteed.

C4C has its won function to test the communication.

This returns the following error message:

Error accessing Service; Service Pink ERROR: Eroor when calling SOAP Runtime functions:

SRT: Processing error in Internet Communication Framework: (ICF Error when receiving the Response: ICM_HTTP_SSL_ERROR") ( )

This error message appears regardless of the authentication method (None / SSLClient Certificate / User&PW).

The Proxy configuration appears correct.

attemped solutions:

Renewed uploading of C4C certificates in PI through basis to exclude false uploading as an error source.

Proxy certificate renewed.

Does anyone has an idea?

Would be very happy about suggentions...

Many thanks & kind regards,

Simone

Hi guys,

here my feedback to the suggested solutions:

1) in the initial phase  of the integration process a colleague has followed the step by step introduction as part of his master thesis...to the best of its knowledge and belief....

2) question 8 is relevant for our topic: the solution for this are the steps that we have taken (certificate upload in PI and C4C) unfortunately without success.

3) Refers to the communication direction ERP to C4C (which we do not pay attention while C4C to cloud is not working). The landscape does not match to ours. We have ERP and PI within DMZ.

4) a) ECC and PI are in DMZ network: We have access through the browser.

    b) For Cloud to PI: has already happend.

Would be very happy, if someone has still an idea...

Many thanks!

Simone

This error is an SSL handshake error.   It's recommended you bring in the network expert to help out.   You can also create an incident in LOD-CRM-INT-NET.  However, the responded will need to work directly with the network person in charge of the SSL certificates for the DMZ, reverse proxy, and PI.

not yet. I have opened a ticket.

We now try to find a time slot with SAP and the network guys - hopefully in this week.

When I have some news, I'll send an update.

Hi,

As mentioned ECC and PI are in DMZ network, it means these servers are not accessible in public (I mean only HTTPS is not enough), eventually not able to directly talk with C4C (on cloud).

For ECC - PI to C4C,

Import the certificates and open the IP address, ports or route through Outbound proxy to allow C4C to send data in DMZ network.

For Cloud to PI

I've seen similar Security and governance policies in past. For cloud to PI, I suggest to establish the reverse proxy for seamless communication. On C4C side you will need to replace PI server URL with proxy URL and rest configuration will remain same.

Check the Technical Connectivity guide, for more technical details

Simone,

On my first integration procedure, I had the same issues. I strongly suggest you to get into Marketplace documentation (service.sap.com/cloud4customer) and download the specific step by step "ERP integration guide through PI". Many things will get clarified and simplified.

Hope this helps you.

All the best!

Alejandro.
