For some reason it doesn't work for RTEDUMP alone. It will work for CRASHDUMP. In my case I collected a full system dump and cleared all indexserver RTE dump trace files with  ALTER SYSTEM REMOVE TRACES command where you can specify '*rte_*.trc and it will work. Hope it helps.

I checked the current source code and I executed the command in question with success on a Rev. 102 system. Indeed I found a related bug that is fixed with SPS 10, so once you upgrade to SAP HANA SPS >= 10, this functionality should work.

Martin,

Can you please release a note for this bug please. We already have a message open for this issue.

I am not part of development and so I release how-to guides and knowledge base articles, but I don't create SAP Notes for bugs. This should be done by my colleagues as part of SAP incident handling.

Hi Martin,

Completely understand your point. I think your articles are excellent. I was thinking that you also release the notes, now that you have cleared the points.I think I am good now.

But what other work around would you suggest, any other alternative measures?
