BI4.2 SP2 to 4.2 SP3 patch 3 upgrade

Hi,

I am on BI4.2 SP2 and would like to upgrade to BI4.2 SP3 patch 3 . My understanding is that the service packs are cumulative. So , should I first download

BI 4.1 SP3 and then apply patches BI4.1SP3 patch 1 , patch2 and patch3 or can I directly download BI4.2 SP3 patch 3 and apply to BI4.2 SP2. Please suggest

this is a correct tag.

The answer is - you should upgrade to BI4.2 Sp3 first. Then install Patch 3.
Please note - only install patches if you need the fixes present in them to address your existing issues. Don't simply install Patch because its latest. (SP's are different , we do recommend to be on latest SP).

Thanks Dennis for your quick response! Just our of curiosity , So are the patches inclusive as well? I mean if I install BI4.2 SP3 patch 3 will it include patch 1 and patch 2 fixes as well?

Yes, they are inclusive/cumulative.
