How to completely remove a PD 16.5 client prior to resinstall?

For a client that is composed of the PD 16.5 base + SP05 + PL02 stack, what is best way to remove the client prior to reinstalling a lower version (e.g. SP04)?  I executed the SP05 SETUP.EXE with ADMIN privileges and selected and executed the "Remove all installed features" option.  This took care of removing PowerDesigner but remnants appeared to persist in certain folders such as C:\Program Files\Sybase C:\ProgramData\PowerDesigner 16 C:\Users\Public\Documents\PowerDesigner Libraries C:\Users\puid\AppData\Roaming\PowerDesigner\16.5 C:\Users\puid\AppData\Local\assembly (contains Sybase.PowerDesigner.Word.WordToRqm) Is it OK for these folders to be present after “all installed features” have been removed?  Are there any that should be manually deleted prior to a reinstall of the PD 16.5 client?  Thanks.

Hi John,

When you try to install lower version, it's better to completely remove all components for

existing version.

1) Run setup.exe to uninstall existing PD.

2) Open registry, go to HK_CURRENT_USER and HK_LOCAL_MACHINE.

Browser to Software->SAP (or Sybase). manually remove all Powerdesigner keys

3) Go to existing Powerdesigner home folder, remove all remaining files if you find them.

4) Install lower version.

Thanks for the reply, Phillip.  It's a little disconcerting to learn that the uninstall is not fully  automated as the install process is.  There appear to be dozen's of PowerDesigner entries in the registry among the hundreds or thousands of registry entries.  We have both 15.3 and 16.5 clients installed on several laptops.  It would seem a risky and time-consuming proposition to manually remove them.  Is there a list of the 16.5 registry entries in the documentation?
