Keep classification information after assignment deletion

Hello,

I am a bit confused to see that an asignment deletion is not traced in the system.

Example:

I assign a material to a class.

I change a value --> OK the change is kept in the change document.

I delete know the assignment --> the change document disappeared.

I have checked INOB, AUSP tables, the infos are definitively gone.

Am I missing something ? did someone find already a workaround ?

The idea behind is to be able to reject assignment in mass to close the list of characteristic values. Even a lock or incomplete status are not enough to avoid the check of existing assignment.

Thanks for your help

Best regards,

Benjamin

    Hello,

    Here's the SAP answer:

I have analyzed the situation and would like to inform you that the function you require is not included in the SAP standard system. Once the classification has been changed, the change document will not show information about the previous classification anymore as the INOB is cleared.

Then SAP invites me to influence the current solution.

I wanted to share the answer/status of this issue.

Now the question for you guys is: how do you handle the cleanup of the classification (for example deleting a characteristic or a char. value) - even the deleted materials are controlled and prevent the user to act on the classification.

The only way I have found is to reject the assignment - but we are loosing too much informations.

    Please share your thoughts.

    Best regards,

    Benjamin
