Report on Local Connection

Hi Experts,

Version Details:

EPM ADD-In :10.0 SP20 .NET3.5

bw:

I have report with 2 connection:

1. Consolidation Model

2. Local Connection.

The problem is when the user open the above mentioned report, the report created on local connection is not getting connected on Local connection and the user is not able to edit report. But if I open the same report on my machine, the report is working fine i.e. the report created on local connection is getting connected to local connection and I am able to edit the report.

I have created local connection on each user machine and ensured that the user setting on their machine is same as that of my machine.

But I am still facing the issue.

Have any one faced this issue?

Regards,

Rahul Periwal

Hello rahul,

Can you please check with the user roles of the particular user in your BW System & Please do compare with your Roles  with that User....

Hi Aravind,

The user has sufficient roles to execute local connection report. The only problem which I found is that name of local connection created by IT is different from the name from which I have created report.

I have re-created the local connection with the same name and It is working perfectly now

Hi Rahul,

Open the report you've mentioned on the user PC, then click on report actions, then manage connections, then click on report connections.

select the relevant ones for the report.

Hello Experts,

Sorry for the late reply. The previous issue is solved now.

Actually the name of connection in both machines are different and that was causing the issue.

But I am facing a new issue where if the user is trying to connect that report to the local connection, he is getting the following error:

Rahul, first try to  re - login again but if still the same error persists, do check with your basis team for RFC check.

Hi,

The problem is when end user is trying to connect the report to created local connection, he is getting RFC error. But when I am connecting to the same report and to the same local connection, I am not getting this error.

Is the RFC check is user specific?

Hi Rahul ,

As the Error Message says this issue is purely related with your Basis Team ....

So lets ask them to check the RFC Connection(SM59) in your BW System....!!!!

Hi,

The user are logging into system through office only and the URL assigned to them is correct.
